Cookies
What this site keeps on your device, and why. There is nothing here to accept or turn off — see below.
| What | What it is for | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
geoquiz_sessionCookie | Keeps you signed in. | Until you sign out: 8 hours unused when signed in, a week as a guest, and 7 days at most. | Needed to work |
geoquiz-languageCookie | Remembers the language you picked. | 13 months. | Remembers your choice |
geoquiz-cookie-noticeCookie | Remembers that you have read this notice, and which version. | 13 months. | Remembers your choice |
geoquiz:c:<slug>:usernamesStored in your browser | Remembers up to 8 usernames that signed in to this class on this device, so nobody has to type theirs again. | Until you clear it. Signing out does not — remembering is the point. | Remembers your choice |
geoquiz:signed-in-asStored in your browser | Remembers who signed in on this tab, so signing out can remove their username from this device. | Until the tab is closed. | Needed to work |
Why there is no Accept button
Everything above either makes the site work or remembers something you chose. Neither needs your permission under the rules, so asking would be pretending you had a choice we had already made. If that ever changes, you will be asked properly, and turning it down will be as easy as turning it on.
